Tuition and Fees

$4,400.00  $4,300.00 - Tuition for 2018 Summer at Columbia Program. Includes 3 credit hour course, all weekday and weekend enrichment activities, 3-week stay in our Plymouth Court dorms, 3-week Ventra pass, and 10 college-hosted meals per week.

$3,300.00  $3,200.00 - Reduced tuition rate for students opting to commute to campus from home every day. Includes everything described above except the 3-week stay in the Plymouth Court dorms. Please note that we are limited to only 21 total commuter spots for the 2018 program.

So what are you getting for your Summer at Columbia tuition dollars? An awful lot! Below is a breakdown of costs included in the Summer at Columbia Program:

  $2,121.00 - Tuition for 3-credit hour course at $707.00 per credit hour
+$1,100.00 - Housing cost for 3 weeks*

- Industry immersion events, guest speakers, and entertainment

 - 30 college-hosted meals catered by Catering by Michaels
+   $150.00 - Consumable course materials
+   $150.00 - 3-week CTA Ventra pass

   $4400.00 - What YOU pay. $721.00 off the full price.

*Please note that students opting to commute rather than to live on campus do not pay the $1,100.00 housing cost.

We believe that a student's ability to pay should never be a barrier to participation for any of our programs. To that end, we are proud to offer a need-based financial aid option for any Summer at Columbia student that finds themselves unable to afford the full tuition of the program. How to Register

 Register Online

Click below to register through our online registration center, then follow these steps to complete your registration:

  1. Create your family account. Please note that an adult will need to do this, and teens can be added to the account later.
  2. Select one of the Summer at Columbia immersion programs and add it to your cart.
  3. If you are opting to commute, be sure to uncheck the On-Campus Housing option on the fees page.
  4. Pay your deposit or pay in full. Payment by all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover) is available.

Register by Phone

Call our Student Services Desk at 312-369-3100 during regular office hours to speak with a Student Services Specialist. Registrations are accepted from 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Payment by credit card is accepted.

Register in Person

Stop by our Student Services Desk on the 1st floor of the Sherwood building, 1312 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL during regular office hours to register and pay in person. Payment by credit card, check and cash (exact change only) is accepted for in-person registrations.

For International Students

Each year, students from around the globe attend high school programs at Columbia College Chicago. International students bring the world to Columbia's campus and provide opportunities for cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration. We provide international students with a cutting-edge arts education in a world-class city.

Additional requirements for non-U.S. students include:

Proof of English Proficiency
Our courses will be taught in English and we need to make sure that you have the language ability to successfully complete the course. We have many ways to prove your proficiency and they include:

  • You have attended school at the secondary level (high school) for at least three years full-time where the language of instruction is English or,
  • You live in a country where English is the primary language or,
  • You have a TOEFL score of 70 iBT, or an IELTS score of 6.0

Visa & Insurance

  • You may attend on a tourist visa (B1/B2) or ESTA
  • We currently do not issue documents for students to apply for an F-1 Student Visa.
  • Please ensure that you can stay in the USA on a tourist visa for the amount of time it takes to complete this program.
  • You must submit proof of international insurance coverage

International student airport pick-ups can be arranged by Columbia College Chicago. International students will receive additional support during orientation including an opportunity to gather with other international students and Columbia's international student support team members.
