Where did you receive your postgraduate education? BA from Columbia College Chicago.

What is your hometown? Cambridge City, IN.

What is your preferred age to teach? 6 and up.

What is your preferred student level to teach? Beginner to Intermediate.

How long have you been at Sherwood? Since 2010.

What do you want to impart to your students through your teaching? A love for the piano and music, curiosity to grow, and multiple tools to solve problems and practice effectively.

Are there specific methods/ techniques that you use in your teaching that may be important to share with new students? Especially for beginners, I stress rhythmic exercises to help develop coordination. I also encourage practice methods that help keep the brain engaged and active.

What do you most enjoy about teaching? Relating to students and seeing them progress.

Describe your musical pursuits outside of Sherwood. I am one of the pianists for the Chicago Civic Orchestra, a chamber musician within Civic and the CSO, and a freelance soloist and collaborative pianist in Chicago.

What is your earliest musical experience or best musical memory? Seeing the Phantom of the Opera in NYC when I was 12.

Please describe one of your favorite teachers or mentors. Aglika Angelova- she is one of the most captivating musicians and instilled in me how moving and exciting chamber music can be.
