While Columbia College's division of Continuing and Community Education is primarily focused on youth and teen programs for the 2018/2019 Academic Year, we do offer a small handful of adult programs at Sherwood Community Music School, along with individual music lessons, which are open to all ages. In the Summer, our office hosts the week-long Advanced Placement Summer Institute, for classroom teachers.

Columbia College offers many opportunities for adult engagement though Columbia Online, our world-renown Dance Center, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography. Adult learners are also welcome to take individual music lessons at Sherwood Community Music School.

Cabaret

This class is an introduction to cabaret singing that will focus on vocal and musicianship skills, song interpretation, and physical performance. Students will learn how to integrate their skills as a singer and storyteller, how to bring musical style into their singing, and how to work with an accompanist. The class culminates in an informal showcase performance. No previous experience is required. Class begins in March.
